Damanhur, Italy

I spent the weekend in Damanhur, an Intentional Community in northern Italy. The Dahmanhurians have built a 75m deep temple inside a mountain. For 16 years the temple was a secret. 1992 they opened the doors to the world. Today you can visit the temple by appointment. Everything is handcrafted.
An interesting part of their constitution is how their marriages are organized. In a Damahurian wedding you get married for one year at a time. Every year they see what they learned and would like to develop in their relationship and decide weather they want to get remarried or not. This so the relationship never is taken for granted and continues to grow.
